A work-from-home internship asks more of you than an in-person one in some ways. Nobody is sitting next to you to notice you are stuck, so you have to build your own routine and ask for help when you need it.
The weekly rhythm
Dnyx Academy internships use the same pattern every week, so you always know what is next:
- Monday to Friday, learn and build: lessons and hands-on tasks on the learning platform, with mentors available for doubts.
- Wednesday workshop: a hands-on session where you apply what you learned to a practical problem.
- Fun Friday: a relaxed engagement session to close the week and meet your batch.
- Saturday Placement Spotlight Session: people who were placed straight out of college share their experience, and you can ask them questions.
- Sunday: weekly off.
- Every week: an assignment, and at the end of the month a capstone project.
Plan your week before it starts
Block time for the sessions first, then set aside extra time for the project work, which is where most of the learning happens. Several short blocks of focused practice usually work better than one long session.
Use the platform to stay on track
Mark what you have completed. Note the topics you find hard and bring those questions to the next session. Asking early saves time later in the capstone.
Practise in public
Share a small piece of work, get feedback and keep a simple log of what you built each week. The log becomes the outline of your portfolio and your interview answers.
Setting up your space
You need a laptop, a steady internet connection and a quiet hour or two each day. Nothing else is required to start.
