A certificate is easy to lose in a folder. On LinkedIn it sits on your profile, where recruiters and mentors can see it and check it. This guide shows how to add one properly.
Before you start
Have these ready:
- The name of the programme exactly as it appears on the certificate.
- The organisation that issued it.
- The issue date (month and year).
- The certificate ID and a verification link, if your certificate has them.
Step by step
- Open your LinkedIn profile and choose Add profile section.
- Open Recommended, then choose Add licenses & certifications.
- Type the programme name in Name.
- For Issuing organisation, start typing the name and pick it from the list. If it is not listed, type it in full.
- Set the issue date. Leave the expiry empty if the certificate does not expire.
- Paste the credential ID and the credential URL (the verification link).
- Save. Then share a short post about what you built, so the certificate has a story behind it.
The fast way in Dnyx Learn
When you finish a Dnyx Academy course, your certificate page in Dnyx Learn has an Add to LinkedIn button. It opens LinkedIn with the course name, organisation, date, certificate ID and verification link already filled in. You only need to check it and save.
Why the verification link matters
Anyone can type a certificate onto a profile. A verification link lets a recruiter confirm that the certificate is real and was issued to you. That small step makes your profile more credible than a certificate with no way to check it. Every Dnyx Academy certificate has a public verification page that works with its code.
Make it count
- Put the certificate together with a project. Link the project in your Featured section.
- Write one line about what you learned or built, not just the title.
- Do not list a certificate you did not complete.
- Keep the wording honest: a certificate of completion shows you finished a programme, not that you are an expert.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the wrong date, which makes the certificate look older or newer than it is.
- Leaving out the credential ID and link.
- Uploading a screenshot instead of using the proper certificates section.
- Adding it and then never mentioning the project behind it.

FAQ
Should I add an internship certificate to LinkedIn?
Yes, if you completed the programme. Add the project you built as well, so the certificate has evidence behind it.
Where do I find the credential ID?
It is usually printed on the certificate. For Dnyx Academy certificates the ID and the verification link are on the certificate and on your course page.
Can recruiters verify my certificate?
If the certificate has a public verification page, yes. Anyone can open the link and check the code.
What if the organisation is not in LinkedIn's list?
Type the organisation name in full. You can still save the certificate.
